The Ophthalmology Unit of the Clinic, composed of Specialists in Ophthalmology, offers the possibility of continuous access, every day including holidays, ensuring a constant service of availability.
In addition to normal routine activities (visits, surgery, specialist examinations), the service is aimed at emergencies and at all patients with serious and less serious eye diseases, for whom a prompt specialist intervention is deemed necessary, guaranteeing adequate diagnosis and treatment.
The traumas on which we can promptly intervene are: eyelid wounds, sudden lowering of vision, pain, vision of flashes of light, flying flies, redness, feeling of foreign body and / or needs for immediate and objective assessment of their visual condition.
Operationally, it is sufficient to go to the facility and notify the concierge of the need for an urgent eye examination, or activate the service of availability through the switchboard of the clinic, specifying the estimated time of arrival.
Access includes an urgent eye examination and the possibility of immediately establishing a therapy that can range from the simple prescription of home therapy, up to the possibility of immediate hospitalization and surgery. For example:
- Patient with conjunctivitis: the patient enters Villa Margherita and is examined, the therapy prescribed and the programmed control is fixed.
- Patient with detachment of the retina: the patient is visited, he is admitted with the following surgical intervention.
- Patient with venous thrombosis: the patient is examined, a medical therapy is established immediately.
- Patient with visual alterations: the patient is examined and analyses and functional examinations will be programmed.
The structure guarantees to carry out a multidisciplinary diagnostic and therapeutic course with internal, cardiological, neurological, neurosurgical, maxillofacial and plastic surgery consultancy.
